A visit to the Swoyambhunath Temple

Hey guys! Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the Swoyambhunath Temple, also known as the Monkey Temple, located in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal. I woke up early in the morning around 5 a.m. to visit the temple. It was a bit dark this morning but the morning breeze of fresh air was all I needed. I reached to the foot of the hill where the temple was situated at around 5 45 a.m. .

As I climbed the steep stairs that led to the temple, I was surrounded by the sounds of the resident monkeys, who were busy playing and grooming each other. The early morning light was just beginning to filter through the trees, casting a soft glow on the temple and its surroundings. Those long stairs were tiring and felt like never ending. It felt like every step I take was a climb to the Mt. Everest. Haha ! Just kiddeing. It was hard though. Though in every step I only thought of who would even make such insane steps.

Finally, when I reached the top of the hill, I was greeted by the stunning sight of the Swoyambhunath stupa, with its white dome and gilded spire towering over the surrounding landscape. There were prayer flags surrounding the stupa. It was a fabulous sight to see. I am amazed with the complex architecture of the temples where every temple in the vicinity had its own design patterns and uniqueness.

As I explored the temple, a feeling of peace and spiritual atmosphere rose from within maybe it was due to the atmosphere or due to the temple itself. There were visitors who were meditating and praying in various parts of the temple, and the air was filled with the scent of burning incense and the sound of chanting. A mesmerizing event. What a amazing day!

It was more than just a trek; it was a whirlwind of fun, meeting amazing people, and soaking in the stunning landscapes. So, there I was, starting off from the picturesque village of Manang. The trek promised not just breathtaking views but a chance to meet fellow trekkers from around the world. The excitement was palpable as we set out on a trail that unfolded surprises at every turn. The trek was no walk in the park – it was a mix of forest trails and rocky paths, but each step took me higher into the heart of the Annapurna range. The air got thinner, and I met folks from all walks of life, each with their own story to share. The challenge was real, but the camaraderie made it a blast. Reaching the Tilicho Base Camp was a milestone, and the vibe there was just awesome. Surrounded by fellow trekkers, we swapped stories, shared laughs, and marveled at the incr...

Kartik Naach in Patan

Hey everyone! I recently had an amazing time in Patan, Nepal, where I got to experience the incredible Kartik Naach. This traditional dance, also known as Kachhalā Pyākhan, takes place every Kartik (October or November) and is a beautiful blend of culture and entertainment. The performance unfolded late at night, making it even more magical. Dancers, dressed in stunning deity costumes, took the stage, enchanting the audience with their rhythmic moves and lively music. What stood out was the cultural richness of Kartik Naach. The performers brought stories to life through their dance, creating a vibrant tapestry of tradition. The late-night setting added an extra touch of magic, as colors popped against the darkness, and the beats echoed under the starry sky. What I loved most was the sense of community and devotion. It wasn't just a performance; it was a shared celebration of culture and spirituality. Kartik Naach in Patan is more than a dance; it's an immersive experience th...
